Instead, this is all a hypothetical. A warning. A reminder.
While I am not endorsing the sponsoring brand of cold-fighting tonic or over-the-counter treatment, the linked "Cold Monster" commercial stars one miserable-looking, furry guy/gal! It's enough to make me wince and recoil from the sight and thought of vicariously lumbering around as my own version of a "Cold Monster". Moreover, while getting ready for school today, the morning news coverage was fully primed to inform us on the budding flu outbreak apparently spreading across the country and warn us in their sage, but often sensationalized style, that "It's a coming! It might not get you today; it might not get your tomorrow; but, watch out!"
My sarcasm is just for fun, and I 100% admit: No one likes to be sick. The extra hours we may get to spend in bed, on the couch, or at home/out of school, are not the glory days of limitless energy, all-night movie or gaming marathons, and pizza parties from elementary-school sleep-overs with your friends. Being sick simply sucks. We feel like a deflated balloon, dragged down, first, by whatever has taken possession of our bodies, and, then, again saddled with feelings of "Ugh..." by the growing piles of responsibilities, day-to-day enjoyments, and just plain healthy living we have to miss out on; regrettably, we seem only to have a chance to make-up the missed assignments, chores, WORK, we missed out on while sick - usually not the good times and would-be care-free moments we slept through or wiled away by monitoring the color of our snot/phlegm.
