As I look at the video of a year passing (above), which was originally viewed by some of your now-graduating siblings during their last slice of the year, I think to myself, "Where did this year go? "
And, milemarkers of the school year come to the surface of my mind and I hear in a Jiminy Cricket voice, "Where'd winter go?" But it was here: the slushy, slowed commutes on mornings saturated with inky darkness as tired minds are pierced by the beams of headlights. Then it asks, "What about football season? Or past spirit days? Or just an average day?"
And as I write now, I begin to hear echoes of a perfectly suited quote. The end-of-the-year haze has me momentarily trying to trace it back to a song, but google gives clarify to my thoughts in miliseconds: "Life goes pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it," was sage advice from the perpetual, quintessential teenager.........Ferris Bueller.
