I had just run out of the bathroom - floss and tied up bag of bathroom garbage in either hand - as I distinguished the fluffed, white peaks atop the tall kitchen garbage can in the shadowy, pre-dawn light of a house with only one present occupant. "It's garbage day!" he heard on his way through the living room and into the kitchen, but his 'head in the clouds' response was to simply roll the toter down to the end of the driveway. It was all ready to go in his mind.
Stuffing the tied up white Meijer bag of bathroom refuse into the top of the kitchen can, Ipried the top of the kitchen's bag off the rim of the garbage can as my flip flops made angry slaps towards the end of the road. "Are you kidding me? You 'took the garbage out' without actually taking the garbage out?" I accused and questioned at the same time. I'll remember this as another one of our silly memories like J laughing scrambled eggs out of his nose in the Sunshine parking lot, and Jon slipping and sliding [and falling] like Goofy on the three foot walk around to the car at the cemetery.
On the drive to school, the song below, which I later learned was the Climax Blues Band's song, "Couldn't Get It Right," hit the spot and made me dance around along the last two miles of the drive.
