Thinking spring, I planned red Capri pants even when I was still in bed.
But, then looking into the closet from the bathroom, I saw the neon mustard pants and perfectly-matching oatmeal and neon mustard striped shirt I got at Old Navy this weekend during a pitstop on the way home from the 6-Miler. I decided to try the pants on. They fit just right - not too tight and not too loose - and on went a cobalt oxford shirt and - voila... - outfit!
The smooth simplicity of getting dressed today helped the day and got things started off on a frictionless right foot.
Recognizing all the germs on the common surfaces throughout the school (doorknobs, tabletops, sink knobs, copy machine buttons, etc, etc, etc!) I think it best to avoid touching my face and also use hand sanitizer anytime I use a tissue or touch a student's iPad. When I get home, hand washing is top on my list of priorities, right after a kiss for Olive, but I do not start playing with her or touching her toys on her highchair tray until I've washed my hands.
But, during my prep today, while deep in 'work-mode', sitting at a one of the long tables in the room entering grades to wrap up the nine-weeks, I noticed I was indeed resting my fists on my cheeks, and somehow thought the back of myhands would be cleaner than the palms and finger pads.... I thought, Eh, what's one time? and went about my grading and then onto 7th hour.
Then, after school got out, I went down to the restroom, and, upon seeing my reflection in the mirror, thought I'd smeared pen or pencil lead on my cheek.
Low and behold, a dreaded pimple!
We'll see how long this spot sticks around. It's one of those 'headless,' firm lumps that comes out of nowhere.
Pimple(s), ain't no body got time for you!
But, it was a humble-pie accessory for my happy outfit. Always look on the bright side!
