AHA!
One of the reasons I got into teaching is because I genuinely love the feeling of the Aha! Moment one gets when the cerebral stars align, and my brain digests enough information to help me understand something I've been seeing all of my life but didn't understand enough to remember.
Let me give you an example: you know those times when you learn a new word; then, suddenly, you start seeing it just crop up all over the place! Suddenly, you're using it in conversations to sound smart because you know what it means, and, eventually, you surprise yourself with how much you understand about that one little snippet of an idea.
A few weeks ago, a friend dropped a video of guitar strings being plucked and filmed through an iPhone camera from the inside of the guitar. Something about the way the camera's software captures the image (obviously I'm still working on understanding THAT part) forces the images recorded to be on the same timing with the guitar strings as they vibrate.
When I hit play, I was blown away by what I saw.
I can't imagine what it would be like to not hear, but I can empathize, somewhat, with the video below.
p.s. When I want to treat my ears to some good vibrations, I reach for something like this:

(coincidentally, it's some of the first music I traded with Mrs. M. :-)
