Sleepless in Indiana
(see: the photo of Mrs. McCullough being dropped off at her Waffle House carpool checkpoint on the left)
But, rest assured! She's got her bases well covered while she's away, and I've been enlisted to fill in for her until she returns from Washington D.C.
This might be an appropriate time to introduce myself; I'm Mr. McCullough :-)
I'll talk more about me tomorrow so I can get a feel for a more authentic slicing experience, but now I have to tell you what I saw Lilly (our dog) doing while we were walking today.
During these blistery days that batter your face with fly-swats of stinging wind, I prefer letting Lilly run around in the yard to walking her on a leash so I can avoid the whole face-pain situation. Usually, Lilly loves it. She's always so overjoyed to run around like a maniac around the garage and along our fence until I call her back to the house.
Today, though, was a different story. Today, I kept letting her outside after she would whine like she needed to go to the bathroom, and she just sat and looked at Mrs. McCullough's car.
Similarly, when I went to walk Lilly on the leash, she kept whining at me and pulling me towards the car.
I've read the slices about Mrs. McCullough wanting a dog for the longest time, and I've read/lived the story of raising Lilly enough to know that Mrs. McCullough really loves Lilly and is happy to have her furry companion, BUT! I'll bet she'll be as surprised as I was at how much Lilly seemed to miss her while she's been away for only a day now.
Let's hope I fare better being home alone than this crazy dog is at the moment. That looks like about enough for now, maybe I'll go see what Alena is do---
Oh...
Right...
Alena! Come home soon!
